The Koh Raya Yai Team in NSW, Australia is getting ready for travelling on Oktober 5th, for 3 weeks to the beautiful Koh Raya Yai island off the coast of Phuket, Thailand.
Southern Cross University marine scienstists Sander Scheffer, Lea Taylor and Paul Kelly, and filmmaker Mariani Vermeend of Rapture Productions are preparing for a specialist mission:
the delicate task of pulling the longest 4 meter coral core from the Thai reef in order to read 600 years history of the reef's conditions.
Strong cases with sophisticated technical equipment are already on the way to the Koh Raya Yai island.
Film and photo equiment, underwater housing and lights are carefully chosen to document our advances and keep you updated of our mission.
